Goldrush are an energetic Southampton-based 8 piece band, performing various disco and funk classics. Stemming from diverse and experienced musical backgrounds, the members of Goldrush bring about their own unique feel to favourite disco and funk hits. Having performed at many large venues in the southern region, including St Mary’s Stadium, Portsmouth and Winchester Guildhalls, they are now establishing a reputation as one of Southampton’s favourite and finest bands. Ideal for any function, Goldrush is a professional and fun outfit, using top of the range sound and lighting equipment. They are guaranteed to add a spark to your event and get your feet moving.
Goldrush are:
Vicky, Lead vocals.
Peter, Drums & backing vocals
Pete has played professionally whilst under contract with RCA and has spent plenty of time in the studio doing session work. He loves funk, acid jazz and disco because as a drummer, it's fun to play.
Influences include innovative drummers such as Stewart Copeland, Steve Gadd, Billy Cobham and the mighty Dave Weckl.
Reuben, Trumpet
Reuben's favourite genres are funk and acid jazz. In the CD wallet at the moment are Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Brand New Heavies, Martin Sexton, Damon Brown, Freak Power and Herbie Hancock.
Renes, Bass & backing vocals
Renes was born in Haiti, "a country where MUSIC is inside everybody" and he is influenced by many musical styles among them, Gospel, Jazz, Funk, RnB, Reggae, Latin Jazz and Afro Cuban music. His idol musicians include bass player Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Yves Abel (from Haiti) and Al Jarreau. I am also a fan of Mario Canonge (piano); and Marcus Miller (bass); Stéphane Huchard and Jean Philipe Fanfant (drums); and Beethova Obas (acoustic guitar).
Brian, Saxophone
Brian, "The Funky Saxman" loves anything saxy & funky, but also cool & jazzy. His influences include, on the funky side, Sanborn, Candy Dulfer, Lenny Pickett, Parker (Maceo), Tom Scott, & Brecker (with Steps Ahead) and jazzy, Cannonball Adderly, Kenny Garrett (not the "G" man), Candy Dulfer, Charlie Parker, Mike Brecker, Ernie Watts, Chris Potter and Kenny Garrett.
Eddy, Guitar
Eddy likes a wide range of music. Eddy was originally influenced by rock and blues music, people such as Led Zeppelin, Gary Moore and Hendrix. He later became interested in a wider variety of music, branching out into jazz and listening to such people as John Scofield, Maceo Parker, James Brown, Herbie Hancock and everything else that's funky! At the age of 17 Eddy done some session work for a studio, with a track that managed to get onto Radio 1 Xtra. He shall be delving even deeper into the music scene when he starts a music degree at Southampton University in October.
Ed, Keyboards & backing vocals
Ed started gigging in bands in his teens and at around 16 he discovered the sound of a cranked up Hammond Organ. His main influences in playing are classic sixties tracks such as late era Beatles, Steve Winwood, Small Faces, early Yes and early Santana. As well as having a reputation for being "that mad keys chap", Ed also play bass, guitar, saxophone and clarinet.

Charity event at The Soul Cellar
"A top night was had by all at The Soul Cellar on Saturday. Thought the band were fantastic - have consequently put all of my funk and disco CD's in the car so that the traffic jams on the way home are a bit more enjoyable. Worryingly, my girlfriend wants to book the band for our wedding, which until Saturday night, I didn't know about! " - Kev

Wedding Reception at Private marquee
"I'm back from my honeymoon and I just want to thank you and the rest of Goldrush for an excellent performance. You really did make the night superb and everybody has said to me how excellent they thought you all were. I actually think you do Love Roller-coaster better than the original! Thanks again, and I hope you all had a good journey back." - Rob

Corporate Function at The Rose Bowl
"Goldrush - A short note to thank you for your fantastic performance at our recent annual conference. I've been to a number of these events over the years and you were, without a doubt, the best band to have played at any that I've attended. The band were superb, your choice of songs managed to include many people's favourite tracks and your lead singer led the whole thing beautifully. We will certainly look to use you again in the future. Thanks again for making a good evening into a great one". - Phil Willcock, Director of Healthcare - Distribution, Norwich Union Healthcare
