The band ended up as a resident band in a large hotel playing 3 times a week and backing a cabaret artist on the Saturday until they split in 1986. He formed a band 12 years ago with lead guitarists from "Bone Idle" and played the pub and workingmen's club circuit around Southampton. The Sock Monkeys were put together about 4 years ago for a one-off gig, but they proved such a success that they have progressed into a popular feature on the local circuit.

Neil is influenced by the rock and punk guitarists of the 70s, the soul and funk players of the 60s and 70s, and 90's indie rock.

Surprise party at The Holiday Inn
Dear 'Alpha'.
Just to say a big thanks for all your help with supplying entertainment for our event on Friday 7th April. Both the Magician and the Band were great - highly professional and both performed fantastically! The magician mixed well with the crowd and was a great surprise element. The band performed songs appropriate to the crowd and the atmosphere on the night and it really felt like they got involved with the people there, rather than just turning up and playing a standard set. Everybody got on the dance floor. Great! The whole evening was a great success, and I would have no problem recommending Alpha in the future.
I'll soon be leaving Bupa, but I must say you have ensured I will go out on a high note!
Many thanks again.
